The Research Traineeships Program has been facilitated by the Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences (TSHD) since 2015. It was formerly known as the KNAW Academy Assistants Program, funded by the KNAW (Royal Netherlands Academy of Science). The program is now solely supported by TSHD.

The program is intended to give TSHD students the opportunity to work on a research project under the supervision of two experienced researchers, who come from two different departments within TSHD.  The two researchers will have the joint responsibility over two research trainees. The expected outcome for these research trainees may include:

• Work experience in an academic setting.
• Publication of a research article in cooperation with your supervisors.
• A contribution to a symposium at the end of the year.
